Herbaceous and woody vegetation co-existence is important for biodiversity
The abundance of herbaceous plants was negatively related to the abundance of woody plants (Fig. 6), but the relationship was steeper in fenced plots (r2marginal=0.05; r2conditional=0.86; b=-0.37; p-value <0.001) compared to grazed plots (b=-0.13; p-value =0.002).
